Bitcoin Whale Accumulation Runs at Fastest Pace Since February as $84K Caps Rallies

Bitcoin’s biggest holders are buying again. CryptoQuant data shows whale wallets now hold 3.03 million BTC, with accumulation running at its fastest monthly pace since February — a potential silver lining for bulls as price fights to hold the $81,000-$82,000 zone.

Whales Are Back

The pickup in whale accumulation is significant because it suggests deep-pocketed investors see value after Bitcoin’s slide from its $126,080 all-time high. With Bitcoin now about 35% below that peak, long-term holders appear to be stepping in rather than capitulating.

The catch: accumulation alone hasn’t been enough to push price higher. Bitcoin has been rejected at $84,000 seven times since Sunday, according to TradingView analysis, making that level the obvious ceiling. Each rally into the $84,000 midpoint of the current range has run out of steam.

The Technical Picture

Support is stacking up below price. The four-hour 200-period exponential moving average has already reversed two false breakdowns below $82,500 in 24 hours, showing buyers are active on dips. Below that, analysts point to $80,800-$81,500 as the next support band, with the psychologically important $80,000 level beneath it.

For the near term, the setup is simple: reclaiming $84,000 would signal improving buying pressure and open a path toward $90,000. Failure to do so keeps Bitcoin exposed to another test of the lower end of its range.

ETF flows remain a drag. Spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $679 million in weekly outflows — their largest since June — while $1.19 billion in forced liquidations ripped through the market during last week’s selloff. The whales may be buying, but institutions and leveraged traders are still heading for the exits.
