Ethereum ETF Inflows Return After 10-Day Outflow Streak
US spot Ethereum ETFs finally turned the corner on October 13, pulling in $24.8 million of net inflows and ending ten consecutive trading sessions of withdrawals that had drained roughly $783 million from the funds.
Grayscale’s Ethereum Mini Trust led the rebound with $16.7 million of inflows, followed by Fidelity’s FETH with $8.1 million. The reversal stands out because it came just one session after the complex lost $85.4 million — and it offsets only about 3% of the preceding two weeks of selling, a reminder that institutional demand remains fragile.
Price feels the CPI chill
Ether traded near $2,430 on October 14 after the hotter-than-expected CPI print knocked it down from around $2,500. The token remains below its 50, 100 and 200-period moving averages on shorter timeframes, and analysts see $2,550–$2,600 as the resistance band to clear. Support sits at $2,400–$2,440 — and some chart-watchers flag a potential bearish head-and-shoulders pattern, with a daily close below $2,390 confirming the breakdown.
One striking data point: long positions in Ethereum on Bitfinex have climbed to their highest level in four years, suggesting some traders are positioning aggressively for a breakout even while the price consolidates.
The bigger picture
Cumulatively, US Ethereum ETFs have attracted $13.2 billion since launch, with net assets of $15.8 billion — about 5% of ETH’s market capitalization sitting in regulated wrappers. Fidelity’s FETH leads the all-time inflow table at $2.34 billion, ahead of Grayscale’s combined products at $2.03 billion.
The staking question looms over everything: direct ETH holders can earn yield by staking, while ETF shares offer price exposure only. That gap may narrow — Interactive Brokers just added Ethereum staking to its platform — but for now it remains the key structural difference between holding the asset and holding the wrapper.
